Bettor’s Wish moves up in this week’s poll

Hightstown, NJ — Bettor’s Wish won his Messenger Stakes elimination last week and moved up one spot in this week’s Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll. The 3-year-old colt went from fourth to third in the rankings, swapping places with division rival Captain Crunch, who was idle.

That was the only movement in the top 10.

Shartin N remained No. 1, followed by Lather Up. Both were idle last week.

The only horses in the top 10 other than Bettor’s Wish to race last week were Atlanta (second in her Maple Leaf Trot elimination) and Real Cool Sam (won a Pennsylvania Sire Stakes division).

The Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll, which runs weekly through November, does not determine Horse of the Year. The members of the U.S. Harness Writers Association vote on all Dan Patch Award division winners plus Trotter of the Year, Pacer of the Year and Horse of the Year.

Rankings based on the votes of harness racing media representatives on a 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 basis.
