Greenshoe and Gimpanzee move up in this week’s poll
Hightstown, NJ — Greenshoe and Gimpanzee saw their positions improve in the top 10 in this week’s Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll, with Shartin N remaining the unanimous No. 1 for the third consecutive week. Shartin N, who was idle last week, has been ranked first all 17 weeks of the poll.
Greenshoe improved from fourth to third in this week’s rankings following his win in the Kentucky Sire Stakes final for 3-year-old male trotters. Greenshoe swapped places with Bettor’s Wish, who won the Kentucky Sire Stakes final for 3-year-old male pacers.
Gimpanzee moved from ninth to seventh in the poll after winning the New York Sire Stakes final for 3-year-old male trotters.
The only other horse in the top 10 in action last week was Forbidden Trade, who was third-placed-fifth in the Canadian Trotting Classic.
The Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll, which runs weekly through November, does not determine Horse of the Year. The members of the U.S. Harness Writers Association vote on all Dan Patch Award division winners plus Trotter of the Year, Pacer of the Year and Horse of the Year.
