Lord Cromwell reigns supreme in Dexter Cup; Lady Suffolk splits to top trainers

Sweeping to control midway around the final turn, Lord Cromwell kicked clear of his competition, drawing away by 5 lengths to win the $143,737 Dexter Cup on Saturday, May 6 at Freehold Raceway in 1:55, a track record.
Owned by Carolyn Atherton, trained by Edward Hart, and driven by John Campbell, Lord Cromwell, returning $3.60 to win, bested Gustavo Fring and Southwind Cobra (H-Muscle Hill).
Alongside the Dexter Cup, Freehold Raceway contested two divisions of the $73,700 Lady Suffolk.
Princess Aurora (H-Cantab Hall) cruised to a 1:57 win over Sparkle Plenty (H-Muscle Massive) and Royal Pinot in the first division. Owned by Marvin Katz and Al Libfeld, trained by Jimmy Takter, and driven by Yannick Gingras, she paid $2.60 to win.
Romancing Rachel (H-Muscle Hill) coasted to victory in the second division, winning in 1:57.3 over Celebrity Ruth and Southwind Prius. Owned by Burke Racing Stable, Weaver Bruscemi, and Howard Taylor, trained by Ron Burke, and driven by Yannick Gingras, she paid $5.80 to win.
