Ramona Hill and Tall Dark Stranger remain 1-2

Hightstown, NJ — Ramona Hill and Tall Dark Stranger both posted wins last week and remained ranked 1-2 in this week’s Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll. Ramona Hill won the Elegantimage Stakes at Woodbine Mohawk Park while Tall Dark Stranger captured the Kentucky Sire Stakes 3-year-old colt-and-gelding pace final at Red Mile.

The next three horses in the poll, none of which made a pari-mutuel start, also were unchanged. Party Girl Hill was third, Gimpanzee fourth, and Shartin N fifth.

Atlanta, also idle, moved from seventh to sixth, swapping spots with Ready For Moni, who went off stride while leading in the stretch of the Canadian Trotting Classic and finished eighth. The remainder of the top 10 was unchanged with Elegantimage third-place finisher Sorella eighth, Kentucky Sire Stakes 3-year-old filly pace final runner-up Reflect With Me ninth, and idle Manchego at No. 10.

The Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll does not determine Horse of the Year. The members of the U.S. Harness Writers Association vote on all Dan Patch Award division winners plus Trotter of the Year, Pacer of the Year and Horse of the Year.
