Tall Dark Stranger and Party Girl Hill remain 1-2 in this week’s poll

Hightstown, NJ — Tall Dark Stranger and Party Girl Hill lost their respective Breeders Crown finals but remained 1-2 in this week’s Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll. Tall Dark Stranger dropped three points despite gaining four first-place votes, increasing his total to 23. Party Girl Hill saw her points fall by 34 and first-place votes decline from 16 to four.

Breeders Crown champions Gimpanzee, Perfect Sting, and Kissin In The Sand all moved into the top five. Gimpanzee gained five first-place votes and 71 points while Perfect Sting picked up the remaining three first-place votes and upped his points by 64. Kissin In The Sand improved her points by 50.

Ramona Hill, who was idle, was sixth followed by Atlanta, Amigo Volo, Bettor’s Wish, and Manchego. Amigo Volo and Manchego, both Breeders Crown winners, are new to the top 10 this week.

Shartin N, who finished second to Kissin In The Sand last week, dropped out of the top 10 for the first time since arriving in North America. She had been ranked in 72 consecutive polls dating back to May 2018.

The Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll does not determine Horse of the Year. The members of the U.S. Harness Writers Association vote on all Dan Patch Award division winners plus Trotter of the Year, Pacer of the Year and Horse of the Year.
