Shartin N came into the 2019 Breeders Crown as the defending Champion and #1 overall ranked standardbred in North America all year, EVERY WEEK! She won 14 out of 16 races but had finally met her match as Caviart Ally took it right to her as they battled for almost 1/2 mile, head to head, and finally Caviart Ally went by the champ in deep stretch to give Andy McCarthy his 3rd of 4 Championships on Breeders Crown weekend at Woodbine Mohawk Park!
Trainer Marcus Melander brought three high profile colts into the $500,000 (US) Breeders Crown for 3 Year Old Trotting Colts at Woodbine Mohawk Park and Gimpanzee emerged as the best of the lot capturing his second consecutive Crown title, putting him in rare company of trotters who have at both 2 and 3! Warrawee Ubeaut had to work a bit hard to gain the front but the Sweet Lou-sired filly was again much the best in the $550,000 (US) Breeders Crown for her second consecutive Crown title, cememnting herself as the dominant 3 Year Old pacing filly of 2019 for Yannick Gingras and Ron Burke

He was bred by Kentuckiana Farms and Jorgen Jahre, Jr. The race was sponsored by Determination (Serge Godin) of Montreal.
History was made and the moment that will go down in infamy as the first ever DQ by interference in a Breeders Crown Final. Papi Rob Hanover interferes with Tall Dark Stranger only a few meters before the finish line. Driver Yannick Gingras filed an objection, and after reviewing the replay, the judges agreed, and placed Papi Rob hanover behind Tall Dark Stranger, giving trainer Nancy Johansson back to back 2 Year Old Colt Pace Championships
Dancin Lou displayed tremendous determination to track down and nail Bettors Wish at the finish line to win the $786,000 (CAD) Breeders Crown 3-Year-Old Colt Pace on Saturday at Woodbine Mohawk Park making the Breeders Crown debut for trainer Tahnee Camilleri an unforgettable one!

Bettor’s Wish did not change his position but gained two first-place votes. Warrawee Ubeaut moved from seventh to fourth and Manchego rejoined the Top 10.
Shartin N and Greenshoe, both idle last week, remained No. 1 and No. 2, respectively.
The Hambletonian Society/Breeders Crown poll, which runs weekly through November, does not determine Horse of the Year. The members of the U.S. Harness Writers Association vote on all Dan Patch Award division winners plus Trotter of the Year, Pacer of the Year and Horse of the Year.
